walk to art New York
in conjunction with G·E·T Educational Tours (licence number 30137)

walk to art New York is a small group that will lead you through the bustle of New York to street art, public art, artist-run spaces and art studios.

walk to art New York will take you behind the scenes of New York's remarkable art community, introducing you directly to the creators.

walk to art New York is more than an exploration of art – it encompasses culture, food and adventure!

Your guide, Melbourne art consultant Bernadette Alibrando, will immerse you in the cultural life of Brooklyn, Long Island City and, of course, fabulous Manhattan. Bernadette nurtured her love of the Big Apple while working in the city's pre-eminent fine art photographic gallery Silverstein Photography.

Participants will receive a box of postcards revealing the unique meeting place and instructions for each day of the tour.

The tour allows you ample time to rest, shop and take in the many charms of the city that never sleeps. We will meet daily at 2pm and stroll for three hours before stopping for an hour of gourmet treats and wine.

You may be in need of a creative break to help you discover the artist within, an educator wanting to refresh your knowledge of contemporary art or an artist wishing to connect to the New York art scene.

Join us to experience a walk through New York's remarkable back streets and discover the quirky places and wealth of hidden art treasures that make New York so special.

Tour includes: 12 nights accommodation in a boutique hotel, Continental breakfast daily, 7 unique afternoon walking tours of New York's cutting-edge art community, including gourmet treats and wine. Return economy airfares with Qantas.

Accomodation: Hotel Le Jolie, Williamsburg, Brooklyn (the cool part of town).

When? From Wednesday 27 May 2009 to Thursday 4 June 2009.
